Jacob became interested in woodworking as a child, and with the help of various books on the topic of Marquetry, and a number of other areas of woodcraft, he developed style over some 60 years.
He shares his knowledge and skills with many others, having taken weekend workshops, and teaching young people; also individuals when others seek help with projects.
Jacob is a keen member and supporter of the Tauranga Woodcrafter’s Club.
